A startup from the University of Tokyo provides a tool to streamline pre-shipment quantity inspections.
【News 2024/3/13】By having AI conduct inefficient personnel inspections, it is possible to allocate human resources to where they are needed.
◆ Introducing "Count AI" StatHack Inc., an AI startup originating from the University of Tokyo, has been offering an AI tool called "Count AI" on a subscription basis since October 2023. This tool streamlines the counting and recording of product quantities before shipment. In manufacturing, a "quantity inspection" is conducted to confirm the number of products before shipment, but this inspection is performed solely through visual checks, and the results are not recorded or stored as evidence. This leads to inefficiencies and unnecessary costs due to human error. ◆ Count and Record with Just a Smartphone Photo "Count AI" is a tool that automatically counts the number of products by simply taking a photo of them with a smartphone, and records the results in the cloud. The AI is specifically developed for the products being counted. The photos taken are stored in the cloud linked to the customer's order information, inspection date, and inspector's details, ensuring that evidence of the shipment quantity is retained, allowing for prompt responses to any shortfalls in delivery. By utilizing "Count AI" in this way, companies can reduce the number of personnel required for quantity inspections and allocate human resources to other tasks.
